Qudos from California

We were thrilled and flattered to read Charleen's review on Project Wedding after working with her for Beverley & Vince's wedding back in September. Charleen, a wedding planner from Southern California was a dream to work with and seamlessly planned the day long distance. Here's what she had to say about the experience:

"Being a wedding coordinator in Southern California has given me the opportunity to work with many wonderful photographers. Larissa and Trevor are no exception to that. I was helping my sister-in-law plan her wedding back in Toronto, and searched high and low for a photographer for them who suited their style, but also my standards.

When we came across the work of Larissa and Trevor, upon first impression, there was no question, we had to go with them. Not only does their work speak for itself, (with their modern perspective, amazing use of natural light, and ability to capture and encompass those "tender moments"), but they have an uncanny ability to be in multiple places simultaneously, working so incredibly fluidly and seamlessly together as a team. With hand signals or eye contact, they knew exactly what the other was doing, what lenses the other was shooting with, what angle -they were awesome. And on top of that they're really cool, down to earth people -totally friendly and professional.

They are accommodating, easy to work with, and truly amazing at what they do. They are the epitome of true talent.

Thanks, Larissa and Trevor, for an awesome day. It was such a pleasure working with you, and it meant the world to our whole family to have you there. I hope to have the pleasure of working with you again!"

...and of course, as a teaser, one of our highlighted images:

Haiti Trip | Dec.2009

As some of you know I recently had the opportunity to travel to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, in mid-December of last year. A good friend, and alumni of mine from Ryerson was accepted into the first annual Ghetto Biennale and invited me to join her at this festival to document her project as she traveled through the city of Port-Au-Prince.

The experience was truly beyond words.

It was a simultaneously wonderful and difficult eye-opening experience: something I'm still struggling to put into words and process now that I'm back. My involvement in this project took us through many different areas of the city; from the rural communities, to private beaches, through parks, road side shops and into some of the worst ghettos in Haiti, and ultimately the western hemisphere.

The Bride's Project

The Bride's Project: Fighting Cancer, one dress at a time.

A while back (maybe a little longer then I'd like to admit) I came across The Bride's Project online and felt instantly intrigued!

This team of ladies take donated dresses (most of them BRAND NEW) and creates a comfortable, real atmosphere for brides to visit, try on, and hopefully find a gown that is right for them- and at a discounted price! The system is excellent... proceeds go towards helping children and adults with cancer through children's camps, cancer research, support organizations and fund-raising events.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone!

Trevor & I wanted to post a little note wishing you all and happy, safe and food-filled Thanksgiving! :) We were lucky enough to visit with lots of family over the weekend and had some DELICIOUS food... if only Thanksgiving came more often.

To spice this note up a bit I thought I'd add in something a little different...meet Mary Kate!

While on location doing some head shots a while back, a friend of mine had her partner in crime by her side, so of course I had to take advantage. Before the shoot began, as my model was getting ready I snapped a few quick frames of this little one! This one was my favourite and always makes me smile so I thought it an appropriate additive for a Thanksgiving post.

Hope you're all well and having a great weekend!
